Acquisition of QMS Consult by Mérieux Nutrisciences
QMS Consult is not standing still. Recently acquired by Mérieux Nutrisciences. This feels great for both Jeroen Sleenhoff (CEO KTBA and growth manager) and Henning Nykyaer (former owner of QMS Consult). Jeroen: “They are the best-regarded office in Denmark and can offer us a lot of added value.” Henning: “If you cannot offer a full-service service in this market, you will not make it. Mérieux NutriSciences is the partner to be ahead of that. “
On September 1, Mérieux NutriSciences took over QMS consult. Good match?
Jeroen: “Yes, of course. They are the number 1 in Denmark even though they are only seven men. That says a lot. They also offer training on an ad hoc basis. We in turn have a unique outsourcing formula which is unprecedented in Denmark. QMS needs e-learning and label compliance, among other things. But investing in new products is not easy for a relatively small company. Mérieux NutriSciences offers QMS the opportunity to grow. ”
Henning: “We have a large market share in the Danish food industry. Nevertheless, we will have to join forces and offer more products to maintain this position. NutriSciences is the perfect match for us to realize this within our area. With our more than three hundred customers in Denmark, we now need specialists. If you cannot provide full-service services, you will not make it in this industry. ”
Dutch and Danes, does that click or does this require some adjustment?
Jeroen: “Well, the funny thing is that I don’t experience any difference at all. We understand each other, are both straight and a deal is a deal. This saves time and energy, especially because we work very closely together and the general management of KTBA is responsible for this within this branch. I don’t have to change my management style. “Henning:” I have previously worked in large international companies and have always found getting to know other cultures a great challenge. The Dutch and Danes are generally very similar. We are both relaxed and like to bring some humor. We don’t like authoritarianism and like to make our own rules. Handy for developing your skills, but also an exciting challenge for me as a business unit manager! “
